THANK YOU! To everyone who attended our 2017 Ice Cream Social, held on the grounds of the Stage Nature Center on August 13th! This year's event attracted over 600 visitors and everyone enjoyed a full line up of fun and festivities!
The Annual Ice Cream Social is our way of saying thank you to the community and to our partner, the City of Troy for allowing us to provide educational programming that gives visitors a better understanding of the natural world and inspires good stewardship of the environment to all who enter our doors and trails.
This year, visitors enjoyed ice cream sundaes, (compliments of Big Boy on Rochester/M59) with all the toppings! Live music by the Gold Vibrations of Oakland University and Littlefield Folk of Dearborn, MI. Our younger visitors enjoyed the two bounce houses that were provided by Oakland County Parks as well as a Voyageur Encampment provided by Huron-Clinton Metroparks. Other activities included face painting, pond dipping, guided trail walks, crafts and story time and a meet & greet with the Troy Police Department officers who had 2 police cruisers on display.
