For many years I've enjoyed birding with a group of friends. Our schedule is totally ad hoc, but Saturdays are usually our birding days so we've come to call ourselves the Saturday Birders. Sometimes we bird at the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center (SNC) and sometimes we visit other locations. Whenever we go, we always make a list. Saturday, April 14 on a cool, damp gray-sky morning we visited the SNC and eventually got rained out, but we saw the following birds:
Canada Goose - Large Race, Canada Goose - Small Race (a pretty fellow on the pond), Mallard, Ring-billed Gull. Crow, Blue Jay, Screech Owl - grey phase, Northern Flicker, Downy Woodpecker, Red-Bellied Woodpecker, Chickadee, Titmouse, Nuthatch, Red-Winged Blackbird, Cowbird, Tree Swallow, Bluebird, Robin, Yellow-Rump Warbler, Ruby-Crowned Kinglet, Cardinal, Chipping Sparrow, Field Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Goldfinch
If anyone would like to join us, please contact me using the Contacts tab on the TNS website home page and I'll keep you in the loop regarding our schedule.
