Register To Become A Volunteer
Most of our volunteer positions require a completed application. To become a volunteer, please follow these steps:

- Email the completed form to our Volunteer Coordinator by clicking here
- OR drop by our office at 6685 Coolidge Hwy, Troy, MI with your completed form.
NOTE: The preferred document type for returning a completed application is a .pdf file (if possible).

Join Our Marketing Committee

The Stage Nature Center is seeking volunteers for it’s Marketing Committee. If you work in marketing or in a field related to marketing, you may be able to help us get the word out about the nature education and preservation work done by SNC. The committee will be discussing three essential areas:
- Social Media Marketing
- Website Management
- Graphic Design for Marketing Materials

Volunteer At The Native Garden
(Completed application required)
Would you like to participate in some seasonal gardening? Our Volunteer Master Gardeners ‘in training’ are currently overseeing a project on the grounds of the Stage Nature Center in Troy, MI to remove invasive species of plants and replace them with native species. This new and improved garden will be an educational experience for you to learn how to identify native species as well as non-native & invasive species.
- Watering
- Weeding Paths & Edges of Garden Beds
- Composting & Mulching
- Cleaning & Re-filling Bird Bath
- Identifying & Tagging Plants
- Preparing new garden beds
- Photographing Wildlife & Pollinators
- Serve as docents in the garden during main nature center events

Invasive Pull Workdays
(Completed application NOT required)
Join us for an invasive pull workday to help remove destructive invasive plants! You will use hand tools such as loppers and saws and shovels to remove invasive species such as Garlic Mustard, Dame’s Rocket, Buckthorn, Autumn Olive, Oriental Bittersweet, and many more. No experience necessary, but come prepared with proper attire for working outdoors in off-trail areas.
Invasive pull workdays are scheduled throughout the year. Both registered volunteers and one-time volunteers, ages 14 and up are welcome. One-time volunteers will need to sign hold harmless & photo release at day of event.
Corporations, organizations, or schools are welcome to schedule workdays for their group. Please email our Volunteer Coordinator by clicking here for more information and to sign up.
