Invasive Plant Removal & Spring Clean Up Days. An opportunity for individuals or groups(age 14-adult) to volunteer and help us preserve our native flora by eradicating invasive non-native plants from the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center.

We will also work to improve the nature trails and clean up the grounds. Work or garden gloves, old clothes, and "old fashioned elbow grease" are recommended. Bring a kneeling pad, if desired.

TNS Photo Club! A great group of TNS members and volunteers providing views of the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center through photography. Enjoy photography at the LASNC with its: highland and lowland forests; marsh and meadows; hills and prairie; animals and wild life; the Rouge River and ponds; all with dramatic seasonal contrasts. Take part in the selection of photos for the annual TNS Photo Calendar. All proceeds from the calendar sales support the TNS programs at the LASNC for the community. Share your skills with other members. Club meets monthly.

TNS Members register free. Non-members must become a TNS member.

Summer Ecology Days - A special opportunity for children 6-1o to explore the science of ecology - the study of the interrelationships between living and nonliving things and their environment. Sign them up for this fantastic program! 

The program covers 5 days from Jun 17-21. Each days program begins at 9 am and ends at 4 pm.

Every adventure filled day will include fun interactive games, activities, and crafts. Children will use pond nets to catch aquatic animals, sweep for insects in the meadow, explore the forest, experience the darkness of the underground or the night sky, look for signs of wildlife along the trail and much more!  Camp is held rain or shine.

Bring a sack lunch each day, we will provide the beverages and an afternoon snack.

Fee is  $180 for non-members and $170 for TNS members. At the door fee is $190, call(248.688.9703) the day of the program to check on availability.

Exciting 5 day program!    This TNS program was Especially developed for children ages 4-5. Children will explore the forest, meadow, and pond communities found at the nature center. They will observe wild animals, plants and other wonders of nature. Exploration will include seeing, hearing, smelling, and touching. Catching and observing insects, hiking the trails, watching birds and other animals at the feeders, playing simple nature games, making crafts with a nature theme are some of the activities that will take place. At the end of the program, each child will take home a "bug" box and a magnifying lens for future explorations in nature.

Fee for non-members $100; TNS members $90. At the door price $105.

Ice Cream Social and Open House - Family fun for non-members and members. Sunday, Aug 11 from 1:00-3:00 pm  at the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center. 

Besides great ice cream and fun activities for the children, the center building will contain displays of the services the TNS provides. The displays will include: Public and School programs, Scouting Programs, Junior Naturalists Club and Stewardship Initiatives.

Get your free pass(s) by registering. You will receive an email with your free pass(s). This method of RSVP will help us plan for adequate supplies.

Painting Out-of-Doors - Ages 14-Adult!   Learn about and participate in watercolor painting with emphasis upon composition and technique. Painting will take place on the grounds of the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center. A finished watercolor painting will be the end product. The experienced instructor, Janet Almstadt-Davison, is a well-known, respected artist and educator who teaches with enthusiam and humor. All levels of experience are welcome from beginner to advanced.

Material list will be available upon registration. "Yupo" paper will be available for purchase from the artist.
